What is the primary goal of this stage?
The goal of the assessment stage is to compare the innovation to the current standard or other alternatives using randomised trials, and decide which is the best.
How should procedures in the Assessment stage be reported?
By this point, all studies should be randomised controlled trials. Study designs may include the alternate RCTs done in the Exploration stage (prospective uncontrolled studies, feasibility RCTs, and explanatory RCTs).
